The Farmer's Dog Expands Beyond Nutrition with Acquisition of Woof

By absorbing the functional enrichment brand Woof, The Farmer's Dog is shifting its business model from a meal-delivery service to a comprehensive canine wellness ecosystem. The move, expected to close in 2026, signals a strategic pivot toward integrating daily dietary needs with the mental stimulation and play-based tools that define modern pet care.

The Farmer's Dog Expands Beyond Nutrition with Acquisition of Woof

Since its inception, The Farmer's Dog has carved out a market niche by challenging the dominance of heavily processed kibble, having served over one billion meals to date. The acquisition of Woof, a company best known for its Pupsicle enrichment device, adds a layer of behavioral health to the firm's existing nutrition-focused portfolio. According to Jonathan Regev, CEO and co-founder of The Farmer's Dog, the goal is to formalize a holistic approach where nutrition and enrichment serve as the twin pillars of canine longevity.

Woof, which secured the top spot for consumer products on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list, will continue to function as an independent division under the new ownership. Financial terms for the deal remain undisclosed, though BofA Securities and J.P. Morgan have provided the necessary financing to facilitate the transaction. For pet owners, the immediate operational impact remains minimal, as the companies plan to maintain existing product lines while exploring collaborative innovations that blend food science with interactive wellness technology.
