Australia expands Pacific Women in Cyber initiative to 2028

Funded by the Southeast Asia and Pacific Cyber Program, the effort focuses on creating sustainable workforce pipelines. The curriculum spans secondary school career seminars, ambassador engagement, and expanded mentorship programs. Beyond initial training, the initiative emphasizes institutional partnerships designed to turn early interest in cybersecurity into long-term professional paths.

Jessica Hunter, Australia’s Ambassador for Cyber Affairs and Critical Technology, described the project as a move toward a more resilient regional workforce. CGA Chairman Douglas Lute added that the extended timeline provides the necessary space to solidify internships and professional connections. This expansion follows previous regional work by the firm, which has implemented similar training frameworks across the Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
