Founded in 1912 as a modest repair shop, Malvese Equipment transformed over the decades to become a fixture in the regional construction and agricultural sectors. Albert and Otto Cooley, who acquired the dealership from the Malvese family in 2020, sought a buyer capable of maintaining the company’s long-standing reputation for service. Otto Cooley will remain in his leadership role, ensuring continuity for the dealership's existing customer base and staff.
Dobbs Equity Partners, a firm with its own century-old roots in automotive retail, intends to leverage its operational expertise to support the dealer's growth. CEO John Dobbs noted that the investment firm prioritizes long-term ownership over short-term financial gains, aiming to empower local leadership rather than overhaul existing structures. Pat Albero and Dan Argiro of Performance Brokerage Services served as the exclusive sell-side advisors for the deal, focusing on finding a partner that would respect the dealership’s historical legacy. Performance Brokerage Services has managed nearly 450 dealership sales over the last five years, solidifying its position as a high-volume brokerage firm in North America.
