The deal targets the middle-market segment, specifically focusing on transactions ranging from $40 million to $75 million. By providing this capital, GDEV aims to broaden its infrastructure platform beyond traditional equity, offering structured solutions for developers in solar, battery storage, and broader energy sectors.
Charley Poole, Head of Energy & Infrastructure at Liberty Mutual Investments, noted that the platform is designed to meet the rising demand for reliable energy solutions among corporations. Benjamin Baker, Managing Partner of GDEV, described the transaction as a validation of the firm's investment thesis and its capacity to deploy capital across different layers of the financial stack. LMI, which manages over $125 billion globally, executed the investment through its Alternative Credit business, emphasizing a long-term approach to supporting renewable energy infrastructure.
