Aramco Profits Surge to $33 Billion Amid Regional Logistics Shifts

Saudi Aramco posted a 33% jump in second-quarter adjusted net income, reaching $33.385 billion as soaring oil prices and strategic export re-routing effectively countered mounting geopolitical pressure in the Strait of Hormuz. The results surpassed analyst expectations, fueled by an average realized crude price of $108.1 per barrel.

Aramco Profits Surge to $33 Billion Amid Regional Logistics Shifts

The state-owned oil giant maintained its Q2 base dividend of $21.9 billion, a payout primarily benefiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This financial resilience relies heavily on the company's ability to circumvent traditional maritime chokepoints. By shifting significant crude export volumes to the Red Sea port of Yanbu, Aramco managed to sustain production levels despite regional instability.

CEO Amin Nasser credited the performance to a diverse infrastructure base, including the East-West Pipeline and extensive storage facilities. However, the operational landscape remains volatile. Recent threats from Iran-aligned Houthis targeting shipments in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait have forced further adjustments, including the use of dark transits and redirected flows toward the Suez Canal. CFO Ziad Al-Murshed noted that these maneuvers are supported by decades of long-term planning, allowing the firm to maintain export capacity even as external security threats evolve.
