Inturai Ventures Demonstrates Drone-Based Passive Signal Mapping

A single pass from a standard drone is all it takes to map the exact locations of people and devices across an entire site, including inside buildings. By capturing existing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals, Inturai Ventures Corp. has validated a low-cost, airborne sensing technology for defense, security, and rescue operations.

Inturai Ventures Demonstrates Drone-Based Passive Signal Mapping

The sensor functions as a passive receiver, clipping onto off-the-shelf drones to intercept signals emitted by common electronics like smartphones, smartwatches, and earbuds. Because the system does not transmit its own signal, it remains difficult to detect, offering a distinct advantage over active radar or traditional surveillance systems. CEO Ed Clarke stated that the technology meets the specific demands of operators who require passive, airborne, and affordable site monitoring tools.

Unlike fixed sensors that require permanent installation or active systems that reveal their own position, this mobile solution allows a single operator to scan stadiums, borders, or disaster zones in real time. The software processes data to display device locations while maintaining privacy protocols, such as automatically managing the random identifiers used by modern mobile devices. Inturai Ventures aims to monetize the platform through high-margin software licenses, focusing on rapid commercialization for partners in the search-and-rescue and defense sectors.
