The Andersons Reports Strong Q2 Growth Driven by Renewables Segment

The Andersons, Inc. reported a significant surge in second-quarter profitability for 2026, with net income reaching $57 million. The company’s performance was buoyed by record income in its Renewables division, fueled by efficient plant operations and the strategic utilization of 45Z low-carbon tax credits throughout the period.

The Andersons Reports Strong Q2 Growth Driven by Renewables Segment

The company’s Renewables segment posted a record pretax income of $65 million, a substantial leap from the $17 million reported during the same quarter last year. President and CEO Bill Krueger attributed these results to robust operational execution, including record production levels achieved while completing scheduled spring maintenance. The segment further benefited from favorable ethanol export demand and $24 million in 45Z tax credits, which were bolstered by a successful low-carbon strategy.

Agribusiness also saw year-over-year gains, contributing $20 million in pretax income. Fertilizer operations performed well during the spring application season, while merchandising teams capitalized on early-quarter market volatility. Looking toward the second half of the year, leadership remains focused on growth initiatives, including the upcoming debottlenecking project at the Clymers, Indiana, ethanol facility and the expansion of soybean meal export capabilities at the Port of Houston, expected to be operational by the fourth quarter.
