Subaru initiative hits milestone of one million students supported

With U.S. teachers spending an average of $895 of their own money annually on classroom supplies, Subaru of America is marking its sixth year of partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org. The initiative aims to alleviate this financial burden by providing funding and resources to high-needs schools across the country.

Subaru initiative hits milestone of one million students supported

The Subaru Loves Learning program, supported by more than 630 retailers nationwide, provides essential materials for students and classrooms. According to data from AdoptAClassroom.org, 93% of educators serve students whose families cannot afford basic supplies, a gap that has forced teachers to increase their out-of-pocket spending by nearly 50% since 2015.

To launch the 2026 campaign, Subaru is focusing on its home base in Camden, New Jersey, by adopting every pre-kindergarten classroom across eight schools in the Camden City School District. This effort supports nearly 75 teachers, with company employees volunteering their time to help prepare classrooms for the upcoming academic year. Beyond the direct funding, many retailers are distributing curated supply kits tailored to local needs and offering flexible grants for specialized classroom projects.
