AutoFlight Demonstrates eVTOL Air Taxi Capabilities in Astana

The demonstration follows a successful test flight in Alatau City earlier this May. By partnering with Alatau Advance Air Group Ltd. (AAAG), the manufacturer aims to move beyond exhibition flights toward full commercial deployment, focusing on smart infrastructure and regional connectivity.

Sergey Khegay, CEO of AAAG, described the Astana flights as part of a systematic strategy to modernize the country’s transit network. With legislative groundwork already established, the focus is shifting toward practical utility. Kellen Xie, Senior Vice President at AutoFlight, noted that the technology is designed to address multiple regional needs, ranging from routine intercity travel and urban mobility to logistics and emergency medical response. For Central Asia, this represents a transition toward zero-emission aviation infrastructure.
