Banyan Group Opens Mountainside Retreat at UNESCO-Listed Mount Emei

The resort design prioritizes environmental harmony, retaining seven century-old camphor trees and existing woodland during construction. Architects drew inspiration from traditional western Sichuan courtyard homes, utilizing the "four waters returning to the hall" principle to manage rainfall and light. Each of the 130 rooms and villas features a private outdoor hot spring pool, ranging from standard mountain-view units to a 320-square-metre Presidential Villa.

Wellbeing and cultural immersion form the core of the guest experience. The Banyan Tree Spa provides hydrothermal treatments and signature therapies, while on-site activities include bamboo forest trails, Emei martial arts workshops, and traditional craft sessions. Culinary operations are divided between the Jiayao Chinese Restaurant, focusing on regional Sichuan and Cantonese fare, and the Mingyue all-day dining venue. For events, the property offers 1,200 square metres of space, anchored by the 500-square-metre Xiangzhang Ballroom and a dedicated Study Room designed by architect Zhuang Ziyu. The site sits five minutes from the Emeishan High-Speed Railway Station, providing a transit-accessible sanctuary for visitors exploring the mountain's ecological and religious landmarks.
