Destinus Advances to Field Trials in European Sentinel Strike Challenge

The upcoming trials, part of the broader OPEX26 PT campaign, force participants to demonstrate their systems under realistic, contested conditions. From September 28 to October 9, 2026, Destinus will subject its European-manufactured strike technology to a full mission cycle assessment. This evaluation covers everything from initial flight planning and launch to target detection and post-strike verification, ensuring the hardware holds up in degraded environments.

Run by the Hub for European Defence Innovation, the challenge aims to generate standardized performance data for the next generation of loitering munitions. While the company secured its spot based on the strength of its technical proposal, the Portuguese exercise serves as the definitive stress test. Results from these field demonstrations will be presented at the EDA Annual Conference in early 2027.
