Alpana Wegner Named CFO of Waystar

After an eight-year tenure, Steve Oreskovich is stepping down as CFO of Waystar, with the company appointing veteran finance executive Alpana Wegner to lead its fiscal operations starting August 1, 2026. Wegner joins the healthcare payment software provider as it shifts focus toward scaling its autonomous revenue cycle platform.

Alpana Wegner Named CFO of Waystar

Wegner arrives at the Lehi-based firm with over 25 years of experience in financial leadership, having previously served as CFO at Integral Ad Science, Secureworks, and Benefitfocus. Her background also includes senior roles at cloud software provider Blackbaud. CEO Matt Hawkins credited her track record in growing public technology companies as a key factor in her selection following a national executive search.

Oreskovich will remain at Waystar to assist with the leadership handoff, serving as an advisor until June 15, 2027. Hawkins praised his outgoing predecessor for his role in navigating the company through significant milestones, most notably its initial public offering. Waystar currently supports over 30,000 clients and processes approximately $2.4 trillion in gross claims annually, positioning its new financial leadership to oversee a substantial portion of the U.S. healthcare payment infrastructure.
