The new 2,800-square-foot facility at 2021 S. 1st Street accommodates ten employees, shifting operations from a space the company occupied since 2010. This transition is backed by an $80,000 renovation and a commitment of more than $250,000 over the three-year lease term. By situating itself on the Urbana-Champaign campus, the organization seeks closer proximity to students and researchers in physics, computer science, and electrical engineering.
Operations at the new site focus on the company’s DC to Daylight computational electromagnetics competency. The location will serve to drive independent research and development in radar systems, software development, and physics-based modeling, directly supporting the Department of War. According to Mary Barefoot, Senior Vice President of Business Operations, the move offers unparalleled access to a thriving research ecosystem that aligns with the nonprofit's mission-driven work.
