Episcopal Relief & Development Expands Aid After Venezuelan Earthquakes

The Episcopal Diocese of Venezuela, working alongside the Anglican Alliance and the ACT Alliance, is now focusing on the aftermath of the disaster. Assistance efforts are concentrated in La Guaira, Caracas, and Miranda, where local teams provide hot meals, hygiene kits, and cash assistance. Beyond physical aid, these groups are delivering pastoral and emotional care to help survivors navigate the trauma of the loss of their homes and loved ones.

Abagail Nelson, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Episcopal Relief & Development, emphasized that the recovery path remains difficult. According to Nelson, the psychological toll on survivors is immense, making spiritual and emotional support a pillar of the ongoing mission. The organization continues to solicit donations for its International Disaster Response Fund to sustain these life-saving services as the region shifts from immediate crisis management to long-term rebuilding.
