With 25 new franchise agreements signed in the first half of 2026, 16 Handles has already surpassed its total development for all of 2025. The premium dessert chain is now on track to double its annual growth pace, bolstered by a 30% increase in same-store sales across its national footprint.

16 Handles Doubles Franchise Growth Amid Frozen Yogurt Resurgence

The brand's rapid expansion into states including California, North Carolina, and Rhode Island highlights a broader shift in consumer appetite. Younger demographics are increasingly returning to frozen yogurt, provided the product emphasizes premium ingredients and customizable experiences. This market momentum has translated into tangible unit-level success, most notably in Fulshear, Texas, where a recent store opening set one of the highest revenue records in company history.

CEO Neil Hershman attributes this performance to a strategy of persistent product innovation and operational refinement. To manage the accelerating scale, the company recently appointed Patti Carr as Vice President of Operations and Donna Coupe as Vice President of Training. These leadership additions are designed to standardize onboarding and support for a growing network of franchisees who are increasingly reinvesting in second and third locations. With 16 rotating soft-serve flavors and a menu that includes DŌ edible cookie dough, the chain continues to outpace the broader category, which is projected to see a 22.1% CAGR over the next decade.
