Lockton Launches Dedicated Digital Infrastructure Risk Practice

The new unit consolidates risk strategy, engineering insights, and market analytics to serve a diverse ecosystem of owners, developers, and investors. By moving beyond traditional insurance placement, the firm intends to address capital-intensive challenges, including power-related infrastructure demands and complex service level agreements. According to U.S. President Tim Ryan, the goal is to provide a proactive framework that allows organizations to prioritize growth over navigating mounting operational volatility.

James Nelson, formerly of Eldin Risk and Marsh, will lead the practice in the United States, while Sam Baker will head operations in the United Kingdom. Their teams will offer a suite of proprietary solutions addressing cyber, environmental, and construction risks. Chris Brown, CEO of Lockton International, emphasized that the firm’s independent ownership model allows for a tailored, global response to the rapid evolution of the digital infrastructure market.
