The lawsuit, filed by Robbins LLP, claims Hub Group issued materially misleading financial reports concerning its operational revenue, income, and internal control effectiveness. Central to the allegations are two distinct accounting failures: the premature or incorrect recognition of transactions across 2023 and 2024, and an understatement of transportation costs and accounts payable during the first three quarters of 2025.
Financial disclosures made by the company in 2026 exposed the scale of these issues. On February 5, 2026, the firm announced a restatement of its 2025 figures, citing approximately $77 million in misrecorded costs, which sent shares tumbling 18%. A second blow followed on May 12, 2026, when management admitted that its 2023 and 2024 financial reports were no longer reliable, causing the stock price to drop another 13%. Affected shareholders have until August 28, 2026, to apply for appointment as lead plaintiff, though participation in potential recoveries does not mandate this formal role.
