AT&T has finalized its $23 billion acquisition of wireless licenses from EchoStar, securing a significant expansion of its nationwide 5G infrastructure. This deal integrates 50 MHz of additional low-band and mid-band spectrum into the carrier's network, a move designed to accelerate data speeds and support future AI-driven connectivity requirements.

AT&T Finalizes $23 Billion Spectrum Buy from EchoStar

The transaction grants AT&T approximately 30 MHz of 3.45 GHz mid-band spectrum alongside 20 MHz of 600 MHz low-band holdings. By acquiring these assets, the company aims to enhance uplink capabilities and reinforce its competitive standing against other major providers. The new spectrum reaches virtually every market across the United States, providing a substantial boost to the network's overall capacity.

Despite the scale of the investment, the company confirmed that its financial outlook and capital allocation strategy remain unchanged from the second-quarter 2026 earnings report. This integration of EchoStar assets marks a pivot toward strengthening the underlying architecture of AT&T's wireless and fiber services, ensuring the company maintains performance standards as mobile demand grows.
