Boeing Reports Record $715 Billion Backlog Amid Q2 Revenue Growth

The company’s financial performance reflects a transition toward higher production volumes, with the 737 program shifting to a rate of 47 aircraft per month. CEO Kelly Ortberg noted that the firm’s focus remains on restoring trust through rigorous adherence to safety and quality standards, even as the manufacturer balances ongoing work across its defense and service segments.

Operational cash flow reached $1.4 billion for the quarter, bolstered by improved working capital and increased deliveries. While the Defense, Space & Security division faced $280 million in losses related to the VC-25B program, the segment continues to secure key government contracts, including new communications capabilities for the U.S. Space Force. With certification flight testing completed on the 737-7 and 737-10 variants, Boeing is maintaining its target for 2026 certification and 2027 deliveries, aiming to convert its massive order book into consistent profitability.
