The partnership simplifies the technical burden of international expansion by consolidating tax, fraud management, and regulatory compliance under Coda’s Merchant of Record services. By activating the platform through the Unity Dashboard, studios avoid the need for country-by-country payment integrations, allowing them to scale their direct-to-consumer operations immediately upon launch.
"Game studios should be able to sell to players anywhere in the world," said Shane Happach, CEO of Coda. The integration builds upon an existing collaboration between the two companies, targeting developers who seek to capture revenue from markets where traditional credit card usage remains low. By leveraging Codapay, developers can cater to regional payment preferences, which Coda asserts increases conversion rates by offering players familiar transaction methods.
