Wacom Yuify Extends Authorship Protection to ibisPaint Users

The integration covers the full suite of ibisPaint applications, including ibisPaint, ibisPaint X, and ibisPaint Edu. By embedding persistent, verifiable metadata directly into PNG files, the service allows artists to establish a clear chain of custody for their work. Verification of these embedded markers is handled through Yuifinder, a free, browser-based tool.

Previously restricted to desktop environments like Adobe Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint, the move to mobile reflects changing habits in digital art creation. With over 500 million downloads, ibisPaint provides a significant platform for Wacom to reach creators who rely on tablets and smartphones. Koji Yano, Senior Vice President at Wacom, noted that the expansion aims to simplify authorship assertion within the everyday tools creators already use. Ibis Inc. section manager Yuka Inoue added that the partnership intends to bolster confidence for artists sharing their portfolios across digital communities.
