HoneyNaps pivots to CRO status to scale AI-driven sleep analytics

With the global clinical sleep market surging toward a projected USD 36.9 billion valuation by 2034, Boston-based HoneyNaps has officially registered as a Contract Research Organization with the Korea National Enterprise for Clinical Trials, positioning its AI technology at the center of international pharmaceutical and digital health research.

HoneyNaps pivots to CRO status to scale AI-driven sleep analytics

The company is leveraging its SOMNUM AI platform—which holds two U.S. FDA clearances—to automate the labor-intensive processing of polysomnography data. By applying standardized scoring criteria from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the service aims to slash analysis time by over 90%. This shift addresses the industry's struggle with inter-site variability, offering a consistent digital biomarker for trials spanning obesity, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative disorders.

Having already supported studies involving more than 10,000 participants, HoneyNaps is now scaling its SOMNUM Clinical service to support global multicenter trials. Sean Ha, President of HoneyNaps USA, noted that the move allows the firm to move beyond traditional sleep disorder research into the broader landscape of wearables and digital therapeutics. The company, which maintains operations in Cambridge, Massachusetts, intends to establish its AI analytics as a standard for objective data assessment in global clinical development programs.
