Roblox Shareholders Face August Deadline in Expanding Class Action

Investors who purchased Roblox Corporation stock between October 31, 2024, and April 30, 2026, are being urged to come forward as a securities class action lawsuit against the company expands. With a lead plaintiff deadline set for August 7, 2026, the litigation centers on allegations of misleading safety disclosures.

Roblox Shareholders Face August Deadline in Expanding Class Action

The legal action, spearheaded by the firm Hagens Berman, targets assertions made by Roblox management regarding the platform's commitment to child safety and the implementation of age-verification technology. While executives repeatedly claimed that safety was paramount and strictly enforced, the lawsuit alleges the company concealed the negative business impacts of these new protocols.

The financial fallout began in late 2025 when the company announced a global rollout of enhanced age-verification technology. That disclosure triggered a 16% drop in stock price, erasing $13 billion in market value. By April 2026, further revelations surfaced regarding a sharp deceleration in daily active user growth and a significant reduction in revenue guidance. Roblox management subsequently acknowledged that the age-check requirements caused friction, leading to lower app store ratings and fewer organic sign-ups. Reed Kathrein, the partner at Hagens Berman leading the investigation, stated that the firm is focused on determining exactly when management became aware of these adverse consequences and whether they intentionally misled shareholders.
