Monster Energy riders dominate inaugural X Games League finale

Tom Schaar emerged as the central figure of the weekend, becoming the first athlete to claim three gold medals at a single X Games event since 2006. The 26-year-old from Malibu dominated the Skateboard Park, Skateboard Vert, and Skateboard Park Best Trick disciplines, capping his performance with a decisive frontside bluntslide kickflip to fakie. His success mirrored a broader team effort that saw Monster Energy riders sweep the BMX Dirt podium, led by Brady Baker, who secured gold with a 96.00-point run.

In the women's events, Japan’s Mizuho Hasegawa solidified her place in history by reaching 13 career medals, the most for any female athlete in Summer X Games history. She also earned the XGL League MVP title with 680 points. Her compatriot, 16-year-old Miharu Ozawa, delivered a similarly impressive performance, claiming her third consecutive gold in Women’s BMX Park by landing a triple truckdriver—a maneuver never before seen in women’s competition. The event, held at the Caesars Superdome, finalized the 2026 XGL season, with XC New York taking the overall team title.
