The company’s strategy addresses the specific power demands of modern data centers through a mix of lithium iron phosphate and sodium-ion chemistries. For grey-space infrastructure, which houses UPS and HVDC systems, Highstar introduced an 85Ah high-rate lithium iron phosphate cell capable of managing frequent pulse conditions. To handle more extreme environments, the firm also launched 50Ah sodium-ion cells, which maintain operational stability across a temperature range of -40°C to 80°C.
Within the white-space server racks, Highstar is deploying tabless cylindrical cells in 18650 and 21700 formats. By utilizing both LFP and high-nickel NMC chemistries, these units focus on reducing internal resistance and temperature rise during high-power discharge. The broader system architecture is rounded out by 314Ah lithium-ion and 160Ah sodium-ion cells for grid-side energy storage, intended to balance long-duration capacity with rapid power delivery.
By integrating cathode, anode, and electrolyte development with structural innovations like directional venting and precision pressure relief, Highstar aims to simplify the supply chain for system integrators. Following the announcement, the company was recognized as a Top Benchmark in AIDC Energy Storage and contributed to the 2026 Global AIDC Power Supply Industry Development Blue Book, signaling a push to standardize power validation across the sector.
