Sovol Unveils M1D Printer With DualX Multi-Material Technology

The M1D features a 300x300x350mm build volume and utilizes the proprietary DualX system, which allows for seven-color printing without the need for traditional purge towers. By employing an ultra-fast mechanical locking mechanism, the printer executes toolhead swaps in under five seconds. This architecture not only reduces filament waste by more than 90% but also minimizes mechanical inertia, allowing for higher printing speeds without sacrificing precision.

Targeting professional creators and micro-manufacturers, the system supports Duplication and Mirror Modes, effectively doubling output capacity for batch production. The hardware includes all-metal extruders and hardened steel nozzles to accommodate high-temperature materials, supported by an automatic calibration system that aligns toolheads across all three axes. CEO Season Guo stated that the machine is intended to bridge the gap between industrial capability and desktop accessibility. In line with the company’s commitment to community-driven development, Sovol will release the Klipper-based firmware configurations as open-source documentation when pre-orders commence on July 28, 2026.
