Equinox Data Breach Settlement Offers Compensation to Impacted Users

Individuals notified of a 2024 data breach at Equinox, Inc. may now claim financial compensation and credit monitoring services. A proposed class action settlement in the New York Supreme Court, Albany County, addresses unauthorized access to sensitive personal, medical, and financial records involving thousands of United States residents.

Equinox Data Breach Settlement Offers Compensation to Impacted Users

The litigation, consolidated under McHugh v. Equinox, Inc. and Carter v. Equinox, Inc., stems from a security incident on or about April 29, 2024. Compromised data potentially includes Social Security numbers, driver’s license details, health insurance information, and specific medical diagnoses. While Equinox denies any wrongdoing or liability, the company has agreed to the settlement to resolve pending claims.

Eligible class members who submit valid claims by October 23, 2026, can receive up to $5,000 for documented monetary losses and an estimated pro rata cash payment of approximately $100. Furthermore, the settlement provides three years of credit monitoring, dark web surveillance, and identity theft insurance coverage up to $1,000,000. Those who wish to opt out or file a formal objection must do so by September 23, 2026. A final fairness hearing is scheduled for November 12, 2026, where the court will review the terms, including requested attorney fees capped at $228,333.33. Detailed claim forms and additional documentation are available at www.EquinoxIncSettlement.com.
