Theodosiou transitions to the Woods Hole institution from Union College, where she spearheaded initiatives in pedagogy, course design, and undergraduate STEM education. Her background includes directing the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Inclusive Excellence Initiative and significant service on the Society for Developmental Biology’s Board of Directors. At the MBL, she will oversee a diverse educational portfolio, ranging from high school programs to the laboratory’s signature Advanced Research Training Courses.
Nipam H. Patel, Director of the MBL, cited her strategic vision and commitment to hands-on scientific discovery as key assets for the laboratory's future. Theodosiou herself is no stranger to the campus, having participated in the 2015 Gene Regulatory Networks course and mentored students within the MBL ecosystem. She holds a Ph.D. in Genetics from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College, bringing a career-long focus on creating research-driven, accessible learning environments.
