Skydio Expands Federal Drone Fleet with Blue UAS Certification

This certification allows state and local agencies to utilize federal funding—including Department of Justice and Homeland Security grants—to adopt Skydio’s autonomous technology. By joining the X10D on the cleared list, these systems are now eligible for operation across federal missions without requiring additional waivers. The X10 and its associated docking station support remote operations and Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs, enabling agencies to pre-position aircraft for rapid emergency response.

For complex, GPS-denied environments, the R10 offers AI-driven navigation, including night-vision capabilities and reinforced hardware designed for hazardous indoor settings. According to Alden Jones, Vice President of Product at Skydio, the inclusion of these tools provides defense and federal teams with the first and only Blue UAS-cleared DFR solution available for large-scale deployment.
