National Airlines Expands Cargo Fleet With Seven New GE Engines

The new engines are slated to power National Airlines' widebody cargo aircraft, bolstering capacity as the carrier handles increasing demand for its charter services. Mohamed Ali, President and CEO of GE Aerospace Commercial Engines and Services, noted that the order reflects the airline's long-standing confidence in the GE90 and CF6 platforms. National Airlines Chairman Chris Alf described the engines as the foundation of their operational consistency, citing the need for long-term resilience across their diverse cargo missions, which range from humanitarian aid to time-sensitive commercial freight.

GE Aerospace continues to dominate the widebody cargo market, with its CF6 turbofan engines powering nearly 70% of the global fleet dedicated to hauling goods. The GE90 family, meanwhile, remains the exclusive powerplant for the Boeing 777 Freighter. By integrating these additional units, National Airlines aims to maintain the high reliability required for its operations across more than 450 airports worldwide.
