Paris Baguette Debuts First Washington, DC Location

A former media professional turned franchisee, Farid Shahmohammadi, has officially opened the first Paris Baguette in the District of Columbia. Located at 4000 Wisconsin Ave. NW, the new café aims to anchor the neighborhood with the brand’s signature artisan pastries and breads following its quiet launch on May 31.

The expansion marks a significant step for the global chain, which currently operates over 300 locations across North America. For Shahmohammadi and his partner, the transition from careers in media and dentistry to hospitality follows years of loyalty to the brand as customers. They sought to replicate the welcoming environment that originally drew them to the franchise, positioning the new storefront as a gathering space for local families and friends.

Darren Tipton, CEO of Paris Baguette, noted that the company is pursuing an aggressive growth strategy, aiming for 1,000 locations across the U.S. and Canada by 2030. The brand focuses on partnering with local entrepreneurs to re-establish the neighborhood bakery as a community staple. This DC opening serves as a testing ground for that mission, emphasizing the company's "Love Baked In" approach to local service.
