Travelers entering through Cairo’s arrival terminals will now generate their entry credentials via an official online portal, a dedicated mobile application, or self-service kiosks positioned in the airport halls. This digital permit remains valid for 48 hours from the moment of issuance, allowing visitors to secure their code before departure or immediately upon landing.
The cost for this transition is set at 36 USD, which includes the standard 30 USD visa fee plus a 6 USD processing charge. During the initial pilot phase, the new QR code system will run in parallel with existing paper visa stickers. Once the testing period concludes, the government intends to phase out physical stickers entirely, making the digital code the sole method for entry before expanding the program to other airports across the country.
