Travelers can secure their entry credentials through the official government portal, the dedicated mobile application, or self-service kiosks located directly within the airport’s arrival halls. The process allows for code generation before departure or immediately upon landing, with each QR code remaining active for 48 hours. Upon arrival, border officers will scan the digital code alongside the traveler’s passport to finalize the entry.
The total cost for the digital visa is set at USD 36, comprised of the standard USD 30 visa fee and a USD 6 service charge. During the initial pilot phase at Cairo International, the digital system will function in parallel with the legacy paper sticker process. Once the trial concludes, the government intends to phase out physical stickers entirely, transitioning to a fully digitized entry model that will eventually expand to all airports across the country.
