Scania Reports 41 Percent Jump in Order Intake for Second Quarter

A 41 percent surge in order intake to 28,743 vehicles defines Scania’s second quarter of 2026, signaling robust demand as the manufacturer navigates a volatile global market. Driven by activity in Brazil and expansion in China, the Swedish truck maker successfully balanced rising research costs against improved operational efficiency.

Scania Reports 41 Percent Jump in Order Intake for Second Quarter

Sales revenue climbed 6 percent to 53.1 billion SEK, while adjusted return on sales reached 11.6 percent. This financial performance stems from higher delivery volumes and a strategic shift toward a more lucrative product mix. The company successfully delivered 26,274 vehicles, overcoming the logistical bottlenecks that hindered production during the earlier months of the year.

Christian Levin, President and CEO of Scania and TRATON Group, credited the results to the firm's resilience amid geopolitical instability. Investments remain concentrated on industrial capabilities, particularly the ongoing ramp-up of the company’s hub in China and the expansion of the NEXT ERA tractor range. While overall volume growth remains a priority, the company also saw a tangible uptick in electrification, with zero-emission vehicle deliveries more than doubling to 265 units compared to the same period last year.
