Pharmacy Dispensers Gain Access to Pulse Supply Chain Platform

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy has officially opened its Pulse platform to pharmacy dispensers, aiming to bolster drug supply chain security. By creating accounts and claiming facility profiles, dispensers can now streamline regulatory compliance and verify trading partners to mitigate risks from counterfeit medications.

Pharmacy Dispensers Gain Access to Pulse Supply Chain Platform

This digital tool serves as a centralized hub for navigating the Drug Supply Chain Security Act. Beyond basic compliance, the platform facilitates direct communication between dispensers and their suppliers, helping to verify Authorized Trading Partner status and manage state license information. The system is designed to replace fragmented, manual verification processes with a secure, interoperable network.

Regulators have been utilizing the platform since early 2026 to track suspect products, and several pharmacy chains have already begun the onboarding process. Following this rollout for dispensers, the NABP plans to extend access to distributors this fall. According to Executive Director Lemrey "Al" Carter, the project represents a collaborative industry effort to modernize security standards and protect patient safety through improved data transparency.
