Roblox Investors Face August Deadline in Securities Class Action

Investors who suffered significant losses in Roblox Corporation between October 2024 and April 2026 now have until August 7, 2026, to seek lead plaintiff status in an expanded federal class action lawsuit, as allegations intensify regarding the company's disclosures about its platform safety and age-verification protocols.

Roblox Investors Face August Deadline in Securities Class Action

The litigation centers on whether Roblox and its senior management misled shareholders regarding the business impact of new safety measures introduced in November 2025. While executives publicly emphasized that safety was paramount and that policies were strictly enforced, the company’s stock price suffered a 16% decline—erasing $13 billion in market value—following an October 2025 announcement about global age-verification rollouts.

Subsequent disclosures in April 2026 revealed a sharp deceleration in daily active user growth and a significant reduction in revenue and bookings guidance. The company acknowledged that the age-check process created friction, resulting in lower app store ratings and a decline in organic user sign-ups. Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the investigation, stated that the firm is scrutinizing exactly when management became aware of these adverse consequences and whether they intentionally obscured the risks from the market. Shareholders who held stock during the specified period are encouraged to submit their loss information to the firm before the August deadline.
