The report, developed alongside Everest Group, indicates that the initial phase of AI implementation focused on technological adoption is transitioning into a phase defined by human adaptation. Despite widespread anxiety, with 78% of organizations reporting employee fears regarding job displacement, companies are increasingly prioritizing reskilling over headcount reduction. Data shows that 86% of firms identify upskilling as a top priority for the coming 18 months, favoring a strategy of human-AI collaboration over full automation.
Productivity metrics underscore this shift: 34% of organizations report their highest efficiency gains in roles where AI augments human performance, compared to only 8% in fully automated roles. Caroline Pfeiffer Marinho of Talent Solutions noted that the competitive advantage now lies in balancing system transformation with workforce development. As AI becomes embedded in core operations, the ability of managers to redesign work processes effectively is becoming a more critical determinant of success than the underlying technology itself.
