The agreement marks a strategic shift toward Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training environments, building upon the companies' work at the International Flight Training School in Decimomannu, Sardinia. By advancing the M-346 ITS, including the Block 20 system features, the firms intend to create a standardized training framework for NATO and partner air forces.

Pascal Grenier, President of CAE Defense & Security, emphasized that the collaboration seeks to build pilot adaptability for future battlespaces, while Leonardo Aeronautics Managing Director Stefano Bortoli noted that the syllabus must keep pace with rapid technological advancements in integrated air capabilities. The initiative leverages data-driven instruction to combine flight training with mission rehearsal, ensuring operational cohesion across international borders.
