Inside a 324,000-square-foot facility in Fort Worth, the first NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip has rolled off a U.S. assembly line. Wistron’s $700 million D1 plant marks a strategic pivot to domesticate the manufacturing of critical AI infrastructure, signaling a major shift in the global hardware supply chain.

The facility represents a significant expansion for the Taiwan-based manufacturer, serving as the primary site for producing NVIDIA’s most advanced computing components. Beyond the GB300, the company plans to manufacture the NVIDIA Vera Rubin Superchip at this location. Wistron Chairman Simon Lin emphasized that the plant functions as a high-tech ecosystem rather than a traditional assembly line, utilizing NVIDIA’s Omniverse, Metropolis, and Nemotron frontier models to deploy digital twin technology for real-time production optimization.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang joined the opening ceremony to highlight the necessity of localized manufacturing in the face of the largest infrastructure buildout in history. By integrating production into the Texas logistics and talent corridor, Wistron aims to shorten delivery cycles and bolster supply chain resilience. The D1 site is designed to support the NVIDIA DSX architecture, which focuses on scaling energy-efficient AI factories. This move effectively decentralizes Wistron's server production, moving critical capacity from Taiwan to the United States to meet escalating demand for domestic AI infrastructure.
