Clarke joins the organization as it manages a portfolio that includes $1.2 billion in assets and annual sales reaching $1.5 billion. Board Chair Sandy Edmonstone noted that the appointment followed an exhaustive search, ultimately prioritizing a leader capable of balancing aggressive financial growth with the cooperative's long-standing member-focused principles.

Before this appointment, Clarke held senior leadership roles across Europe and the United States, including a tenure at Marks & Spencer. His recent professional profile, highlighted by CNBC and Time Magazine in 2025, emphasizes a track record of integrating artificial intelligence into retail operations and fostering high-performing corporate cultures.
