Emerald Airlines Secures Five-Year Engine Support Deal with RTX

The agreement guarantees comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, primarily managed at Pratt & Whitney Canada’s Singapore hub, with auxiliary support from the company's Montreal facility. Anthony Rossi, vice president at Pratt & Whitney Canada, noted that the custom solution was designed to maximize dispatch availability. For Emerald Airlines, the deal provides a predictable cost structure that aligns with the requirements of aircraft lessors, protecting asset value through the end of the decade.

Richard Spencer, Chief Operating Officer of Emerald Airlines, emphasized that the partnership offers long-term certainty for their regional network, which services routes across Ireland, the UK, and France. The PW100 engine family remains central to these operations, offering significant efficiency gains on shorter routes. These engines are designed to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 40% compared to regional jets and are already certified for use with 50% synthetic aviation fuel blends.
