The recognition marks the 36th year of the analysis conducted by Aon’s Strategy and Technology Group. To qualify for the honor, companies must meet strict thresholds for surplus levels, profitability, and capital strength. Once these baseline requirements are met, candidates are ranked against peers using metrics including return on equity, return on assets, and combined ratios.

Marc Adee, CEO of Crum & Forster, attributed the achievement to the company's sustained underwriting focus and the collective efforts of its staff. Jeff Rieder, head of performance benchmarking at Aon, noted that the selection process specifically identifies firms capable of maintaining strong capital positions and growth even when faced with shifting market conditions. For the 2025 fiscal year, Crum & Forster reported $6.2 billion in gross written premiums, maintaining an A+ rating from AM Best.
