Gallo Freschi, a member of the Zonta Club of Milano Sant'Ambrogio in Italy, brings nearly four decades of experience as a civil and environmental engineer in male-dominated technical fields. Her professional background informs her commitment to addressing gender-based workplace inequalities. Elected president-elect in 2024, she previously held roles as vice president and international director within the global network.
Her vision centers on creating a climate-just and inclusive community to advance the organization's mission. Since its founding in 1919, Zonta International has grown to include more than 23,000 members across 65 countries. The group focuses on critical issues such as violence against women, education equality, and increasing women's representation in decision-making positions. To date, the organization has distributed over US$55 million to support health care, economic opportunities, and safe living conditions for women and girls globally.
