SuanNutra Acquires IFF Specialty Ingredients to Scale Natural Portfolio

The merger combines SuanNutra’s existing infrastructure with IFF’s specialized assets, creating a robust manufacturing network spanning Spain, Slovenia, Peru, and the United States. This expansion brings a diverse array of clinically supported branded ingredients, fermented vitamins, and plant-derived antioxidants into a single operation. Once finalized, the enlarged group will employ approximately 700 people and manage a client base of 1,200 companies across 60 countries.

For SuanNutra’s leadership, the acquisition fulfills a core objective of the firm's "Visible Health" strategy: providing consumers with ingredients that offer tangible, scientifically validated benefits. By absorbing IFF’s natural colors and flavor technologies, the company aims to capitalize on the food industry's rapid shift away from artificial preservatives. Anthony Weston, CEO of SuanNutra, emphasized that the integration of experienced personnel from the acquired businesses is central to the group’s future growth. Carbyne Equity Partners, which backed the deal, views the transaction as a definitive move to establish a player with both significant scale and scientific credibility in the specialty ingredients sector.
