The transition is part of a nationwide initiative by Houston-based Group 1 Automotive to unify its branding across all U.S. dealerships and collision centers. By aligning with the parent company's national platform, the facility seeks to bridge its established local customer relationships with the broader resources of a network that currently spans 32 collision centers and 251 dealerships.
Clay Shafer, General Manager of BMW of Shawnee Mission, emphasized that the shift is primarily structural. Drivers in the Merriam, Overland Park, and greater Kansas City areas will continue to work with the same technicians and maintain the same service standards established under the previous name. The center remains located at 6231 Mastin Street, offering its standard suite of body work, paint refinishing, and post-repair support without interruption.
