IronSpark Studios Brings Animation and Game Development to Birmingham

Birmingham’s creative landscape shifted today as IronSpark Studios opened its doors, aiming to anchor high-end animation and interactive media production in Alabama. Founded by Brass Bralley, Mazi Rasulnia, and Wink Winkler, the studio seeks to decentralize the industry by fostering local talent and developing original intellectual property.

IronSpark Studios Brings Animation and Game Development to Birmingham

The studio operates across three core divisions: animation, games, and interactive media. By moving away from the traditional dominance of large coastal production houses, the team intends to prove that world-class creative work can thrive within the Birmingham ecosystem. Their approach combines client-driven commercial projects with a slate of original content designed to attract further investment to the region.

Central to their initial portfolio is The Purple Sky Peanut Butter Club, a dialogue-free animated short film that explores themes of grief and generational healing. According to co-founder Wink Winkler, the project serves as a blueprint for the company’s broader mission to prioritize narrative connection over medium. With co-founder Mazi Rasulnia citing the city’s vibrant community of innovators as a primary driver for the studio’s location, IronSpark is positioning itself as both a local hub and a player in the evolving landscape of independent digital production.
