The new platform shifts point.me from a basic search engine into a comprehensive travel wealth hub. Explore allows users to bypass rigid origin-and-destination searches, instead using a global map and calendar heat map to identify the best pricing across varied dates and regions. By applying filters for specific credit cards and loyalty programs, travelers can uncover deals that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Alongside the map, point.me introduced a side-by-side pricing feature that compares cash fares, portal costs, and airline transfer rates. This transparency highlights the potential for massive savings, with the company noting that users can sometimes spend up to 90% fewer points by transferring to airline partners rather than using credit card travel portals.
Complementing these features is the new My Points digital wallet. Users can link their accounts to see the real-time cash value of their balances and receive personalized booking suggestions based on the points they actually hold. Brian Kelly, founder of The Points Guy, noted that the tool addresses the intimidation factor that often keeps beginners from maximizing their rewards. CEO Adam Morvitz stated that the goal is to evolve the platform into a system where travelers can earn smarter and secure premium cabin seats for a fraction of the usual cost.
