Ben & Jerry’s Links New Ice Cream Flavor to Anti-Authoritarian Campaign

Ben & Jerry’s is pivoting from the freezer aisle to the political arena, launching a limited-batch flavor titled Razz Up! as the centerpiece of a national campaign. The initiative aims to mobilize voters ahead of the 2026 midterms to counter what the company describes as a rising tide of authoritarianism.

The campaign, which features black raspberry ice cream with fudge chunks, serves as a vehicle for broader civil rights advocacy. Starting in August, the company plans to deploy a traveling tour to states significantly impacted by voter suppression, offering registration resources and voting plans to local communities. The effort is anchored by partnerships with the American Civil Liberties Union, Black Voters Matter, Community Change, and the National Korean American Service and Education Consortium.

Carleen Pickard, the company’s Global Social Mission Director, stated that the initiative is a response to the erosion of civil liberties and the targeting of immigrant communities. The visual identity for the product was designed by Chicago-based activist Monica Trinidad, whose artwork aims to connect the current election cycle with historical grassroots movements. While the ice cream is currently available at more than 200 Scoop Shops nationwide, the company intends to transition the focus from the product launch to sustained community organizing throughout the election season.
