Greenberg Traurig Navigates Denver Summit FC Stadium Development

With the first match at Centennial Stadium scheduled for July 18, Denver Summit FC is shifting focus toward its permanent home in the Santa Fe Yards. Global law firm Greenberg Traurig continues to steer the franchise through the complex legal requirements of building Colorado’s first professional women’s soccer venue.

Shareholders Kevin H. Kelley and Andrea Austin have led the firm’s involvement, managing land use, public-private partnership agreements, and development contracts. Their work secured the debut of the club’s training facility earlier this summer and finalized a unique partnership with the Cherry Creek School District, which includes shared practice fields and community wellness initiatives.

Following these Centennial milestones, the legal team is now facilitating the next phase of the project. Last year, the firm successfully obtained Denver City Council approvals for the Santa Fe Yards stadium, including critical rezoning and financing structures. Construction site preparations for the permanent stadium are slated to begin later this year, with Greenberg Traurig maintaining its advisory role on the surrounding mixed-use district development.
