Founded in 1983 in Colorado, the firm has expanded its footprint to include major hubs in Charlotte, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Seattle. This transition coincides with the appointment of Melissa Pesci as the firm’s first-ever CEO. The rebranding follows the 2023 acquisition of SABA, which allowed the company to broaden its portfolio beyond its traditional healthcare focus into the workplace and science and technology sectors.
Despite the name change, the firm maintains its long-standing policy of avoiding eponymous branding, emphasizing that the identity belongs to the collective workforce rather than a single individual. With 256 employees now operating under the streamlined BA banner, leadership intends to leverage this alignment to scale research-informed, human-centered design projects across its diverse national practice areas.
